Do you know what's sad? Birds trying to choke out a cheep in a dying town.
That's what I thought of when I woke up & listened to the neighbors tell their kids to get the f*ck in the car.
As you can tell, I don't live in the fancy part of town.
I hope to make this blog part journal, part links and part (for now) election '08 comments. We'll see how it turns out.
BTW, this has a spell check, but I don't trust it so sorry in advance for my pathetic spelling.
Side note, I just heard the trains, a very common sound in town. Some people complain but I love it personally. We have a hotel in town that was built next to the tracks & they whine about the noise all the time. Well, you chose to build there....
So, I guess I should talk about myself a bit before I go any on anymore. My blog title comes from http://www.allaboutolive.com.au/ I hope she doesn't mind. Blob is a great title for what we do.
My name is Lara & I live in St. Joseph, MO. I've lived in CA & PA as well and sometimes I'm sure I'll talk about those times. I'm a smoker & I'm slowly trying to stop being an often drinker. Maybe blogging will give me a distraction.
Hopefully people will enjoy the links I post, but many will come from "Clicked" (http://clicked.msnbc.msn.com/) so if you're a fan like I am you will have seen most of them.
This is my second time trying to blog. Mostly I don't feel like what I have to say is all that interesting.
BTW, my "about me" quote comes from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It's my favorite movie by far and very underrated. PLEASE check it out, you won't be sorry.
So, I'm awake because my boyfriend moved or snored or something, and I thought I'd try this blog thing. I guess if this is going to be part journal I should start my normal day which usually starts off with a smoke and a trip to www.msnbc.com
Ok, this is just fun, no comment needed: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17533138/
This is also fun. I am a big fan of Harry Potter. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17439191/site/newsweek/
I also understand the problems of a fast reader near a slow reader. I tend to speed through a book and sometimes miss serous detales vs my boyfriend who reads slowly but gets every bit. We're reading the Dark Tower series by Stephen King and I keep holding back but he keeps asking me for hints about what happens next. It's driving me crazy.
Side note: it's raining here, my favorite weather. I have the door open next to my computer and the cats love it.
Guess I should take a moment to tell you about them. I have 2 cats and live with 1 dog. (The boyfriend would be very offended if I called him "my dog") I have Puck, named for Midsummer Nights Dream. He is orange and yellow and fat. He's Michael's (boyfriend) biggest advisary. I also have Neko. I never intended to keep her, she walked into Michael's yard with a broken toe & I was going to get it fixed and find her a home. It ended up that we couldn't get rid of her because we love her so much and no one wants a "deformed" kitty. (She is faster and smarter than Puck. Screw what normal people want.)
Michael also has George, a German Sheperd mix. He's a good dog but very needy. He also has seizures, which I'm sure I'll write about and I'll also answer any questions about epileptic dogs. BTW, they are still very happy dogs and can live long lives and need homes. (I'm big on saving epi dogs lives. That's the only kind of dog we'll have after having George.)
Alright, so on to the other headlines today....
This comes from my home state of Missouri and it's just an odd story: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17533158/from/RS.1/
Wow, the news (that I care about (NO MORE ANNA PLEASE)) is slow. Well, so much for that.
I think I'm going to find my way to BK but maybe more blah blah after that. Thanks for reading.
